A public
insurance adjuster operating in the Miami-Dade area of
Florida was recently arrested for allegedly participating in the arson of several homes. What was the reason behind the alleged arson? Investigators believe the adjuster, a man by the name of Jorge Fausto Espinosa Sr., was hoping to earn more than 2 million dollars from insurance companies as a result of claims related to the fires. In addition to the charge of attempted arson, Espinosa is also charged with wire fraud. He wasn’t alone in his actions either; he had the help of Felipe Ruiz, who was recently sentenced to eight years in prison on convictions of insurance fraud and Medicare fraud.
