Letting Someone Else Handle Claims Management

Insurance Company of North America, 1600 Arch St.
As a Pennsylvania insurance adjuster or the owner of an insurance company, you probably know firsthand how difficult and time consuming the claims management process can be, especially when dealing with more complex claims, such as those involving high dollar losses or large scale disasters. When the workload gets to be too much and you find your company getting backed up, you always have the option of bringing in an outside Pennsylvania insurance adjuster, supplied by a company such as HC Adjusters, to assist you.

So, what happens when you turn the claims process over to a pro? Usually, the company will have two teams to tackle claims: a general team and a pro team. The general team will quickly and efficiently manage routine claims while the pro team will tackle the more complex claims. The best of these companies strive to keep their caseloads low to allow them to devote as much time and attention possible to each case that comes their way.

As long as you trust the claims management process to an experienced company with a qualified staff, you can’t go wrong, and you’ll reduce a lot of stress and worry for your company!

Are You Offering a Basic Business Owner’s Policy?

As a provider of commercial insurance and as an organization that handles commercial insurance claims, you probably offer a wide range of insurance package options. More often than not, commercial insurers like yourself prefer to sell the most inclusive packages possible in order to turn a better profit and to make sure customers are fully covered.

It’s important that you’re catering to all business owners, however, and that includes the newbies—the ones who want coverage but who can’t afford the high price tag of most “all inclusive” options. To cater to those business owners, consider offering a general “business owner’s policy,” one that includes some degree of property insurance, general liability insurance, and insurance for events that cause a suspended business or that result in property damage or legal proceedings. Remember, you can start customers off with cheaper levels of coverage and then gradually encourage them to increase their coverage as their businesses take off.

When you cater to all people with your business, it can only expand your client base and help your business to grow. If it grows a little too much, however, and you need an extra professional or two to help you with the New Jersey claims management process, contact HC Adjusters for assistance.

Commercial Insurance is Becoming a “Buyer’s Market”

Everywhere you look, media outlets and brokerage research firms are reporting that it’s going to be a very good year for those buying property, casualty, and/or commercial insurance. There’s been a softening in the property insurance line, as well as lower rates across all insurance lines.

In fact, Willis Group Holdings PLC recently reported that property and commercial insurance rates are
expected to fall by as much as 10% this year and that property catastrophe insurance could drop by as much as 12.5%

With the market looking so good for buyers, don’t be surprised if your professional insurance adjuster team suddenly gets a whole lot busier. In fact, before you know it, you could have more customers and more New York commercial insurance claims than you can handle. If that happens, don’t panic. Just find the extra help you need from the qualified insurance pros at HC Adjusters.

Good News for the Florida Insurance Market

Topographic map of the State of Florida, USA (...
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been eight years since a major hurricane hit the state of Florida. The lack of serious storms has helped boost the Florida insurance market thanks to a large decrease in property insurance claims. Plus, reforms have recently been put in place that are keeping property insurance costs lower than ever.

It’s not just property insurance claims professionals who are happy about the recent changes in the state either. No, it appears that these changes have given hope to prospective homeowners as well. According to the Insurance Information Institute, 110,000 homes should be built in Florida this year.

Remember, though, that disaster can end up striking at any time unfortunately, so insurance companies should always make sure they’re prepared with enough Florida professional insurance adjusters on hand. Also, more homeowners in Florida means more homes to insure, so it’s so important to make sure you’ve got enough workers to handle these demands. If you don’t, remember outside help is always available through HC Adjusters

Pennsylvania Residents Receiving Paybacks for Flooding

It likely comes as no surprise that Pennsylvania residents have had to file more than their fair share of flood insurance claims in the past few years. As a whole, members of the state combined have filed 1,526,006 flood damage claims. The biggest filer of all is New Hope, which has filed a massive 2,528 claims all on its own.

Many argue that these towns haven’t received their “fair share” in terms of their paybacks. Philadelphia as a whole has brought in $15.89 million, while New Hope has seen $15.18 million.

It’s important to understand, however, that payouts aren’t really determined by the number of claims filed but rather by the extent of the damage sustained. Anyone who needs help explaining to filers how their claims amounts were calculated or who just needs an extra independent insurance adjuster or two is encouraged to seek outside help. Sometimes, there are just too many Pennsylvania property insurance claims to properly deal with, and if you find yourself in such a situation, the insurance experts at HC Adjusters can help.

Wayne New Jersey Files High Volume of Repeat Flood Claims

There are many spots in New Jersey that are prone to flooding, but perhaps none has it as bad as the township of Wayne. Reports have recently indicated that Wayne has the highest number of repeat flood claims of any area in the state.

So, what kind of numbers are we talking about? The town’s residents have suffered from 762 repetitive losses in the past thirty-five years. Fortunately for residents, the claims haven’t gone unanswered. The National Flood Insurance Program has paid out $102,390,765 in response to these claims.

Whether your insurance company is based in Wayne or in some other town that’s prone to flooding, you need to have a solid catastrophe claims adjuster team available for when disaster strikes. If you don’t have enough people who can act as catastrophe claims adjuster professionals, then you may need to outsource in times of increased claims. You can always find a reliable New Jersey independent insurance adjuster to assist you by going to HC Adjusters for assistance.

False Insurance Industry Fraudster Caught

Sadly, there will always be people in the world who are dishonest and who will lie to their property claims adjuster or insurance company in order to collect money that isn’t rightfully theirs. Many suspect this is the case with Vincent Lamantia, a one-time New York cop who has taken unfair advantage of the horrific events of 9/11.

The ex-cop told his New York cat claims adjuster that he was injured in the events and that he suffered from depression as a result of his injuries. Reports say that Lamantia, who discussed his dishonest activities in
detail in online videos, collected as much as $150,000 in undeserved disability payments, all while “covertly” enjoying foreign travels and working for an energy company.

Stories like these serve as reminders for the importance of having a skilled property claims adjuster team and making sure every member of that team is doing his or her job as thoroughly as possible. If you don’t have enough people on your team to carefully investigate each case and avoid fraud, then contact HC Adjusters for assistance.

Oil Spill Claims Top the Chart in Florida

It’s been four years since the horrific BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and while the spill affected many, no one is feeling the pain more than Florida residents. The spill, which killed eleven people, has resulted in an astonishing 82,812 insurance claims being filed in Florida alone.

In fact, Florida accounts for a whopping 30 percent of all of the claims filed in relation to the spill. With so many claims having been filed, you can imagine that life is pretty busy for the average Florida claims adjuster. And, if you work for or manage an insurance company, then you already know firsthand just how difficult it can be to handle such a massive volume of claims.

Luckily, insurance firms never have to handle increased workload volumes on their own. There is always the option to hire an outside insurance adjuster when the demands get to be too much for your firm to handle. If the oil spill or any other event has your firm feeling overworked, contact HC Adjusters for assistance.

New Jersey Claim Management

Residents of Burlington City, New Jersey, a town nestled near the Delaware River, have recently been complaining about the high rates they are forced to pay for flood insurance. Their anger, stirred by Obama’s recent reforms to Federal flood insurance policies, seems well-based in reality.

Combined, property owners in Burlington City paid around $1.5 million in flood insurance premiums in 2013. Despite the very high insurance rates they’ve faced, both collectively and individually, residents have very rarely had to file a claim or go through the claims management process. In fact, only about $500,000 has been paid to the residents from claims management procedures in the last forty years!

Though Obama’s recent reforms will temporarily lower federal flood insurance rates, they are expected to skyrocket yet again, and Burlington City residents just don’t think it’s fair. Of course, other cities in New Jersey do need that flood insurance, especially cities like Toms River, Sea Bright, and Union Beach. No matter where in the state your insurance company is located, know that if you ever need help handling the New Jersey claims management process for your clients, HC Adjusters is glad to assist you!
