It likely comes as no surprise that Pennsylvania residents
have had to file more than their fair share of flood insurance claims in the
past few years. As a whole, members of the state combined have filed 1,526,006
flood damage claims. The biggest filer of all is New Hope, which has filed a
massive 2,528 claims all on its own.
Many argue that these towns haven’t received their “fair
share” in terms of their paybacks. Philadelphia as a whole has brought in
$15.89 million, while New Hope has seen $15.18 million.
It’s important to understand, however, that payouts aren’t
really determined by the number of claims filed but rather by the extent of the
damage sustained. Anyone who needs help explaining to filers how their claims
amounts were calculated or who just needs an extra independent insurance adjuster
or two is encouraged to seek outside help. Sometimes, there are just too many Pennsylvania
property insurance claims to properly deal with, and if you find yourself
in such a situation, the insurance experts at HC Adjusters can help.
